Director - Technology
Nominated by: Rendy Mathews
If you are lucky, at some point in your career, you will work for an amazing group of women. I am one of those lucky people who work in an organization led by women that are consistently inspiring their team.
I would like to recognize Andrea Maloy for being an inspiring, fearless leader who leads by example. Andrea juggles multiple roles in an organization supporting over five thousand Resources. Her team impacts the work of each person in the Press organization daily. She does a great job of multitasking and providing leadership to all the different roles her team fills.
Andrea is not afraid to jump in and review issues and provide actionable feedback. Her analysis is always insightful and helps the team identify obstacles and determine how to solve issues.
You never feel unsupported working with Andrea. I have confidence that my decisions will be supported which leads me to make decisions and drive change. I know that when I challenge decisions or make suggestions to change processes and tools, I will have the support of Andrea and that she will pull in our AVP if necessary.
When you are working in a fast-paced environment, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. Andrea uses her skills to help direct her teams to the most important issues and prioritizes work. If I ever feel unsure about where to focus, she is always happy to give me feedback.
Andrea is extremely approachable and keeps work lighthearted and fun. While we work hard, we also support each other when anything good or bad happens in our lives.
Working for Leadership that consistently reminds me of how I want to be seen as a leader is so inspiring. I would like to see Andrea recognized as one of the leaders at AT&T who is modeling skills and behavior that are key to our success as a corporation.
VP-Field Operations Southeast
Nominated by: Cathy Balken
Megan leads a team of 7k bargained-for technicians, managers, and directors in the Southeast AT&T Field Organization where we install and repair internet and phone for residential and business customers.
She promoted me, encouraged me, even though I am NOT from network, to be myself, to use my ‘innovative mind.’ She gave me the courage and support to change the culture in an area that needed a more positive, principled approach. I heard a lot of 'we don't do it that way around here' yet in the face of that, Megan said, 'You are a visionary.' This made me realize that they just couldn't see what I saw, the possibilities of a better culture, a better life, a better experience, and so my challenge was to help them see.
She taught us all how to be intentional about adding diversity to our teams - techs and managers - and she has improved our workforce and culture as a result. Yet in the end, she gave me the credit for inspiring others to promote and recruit diverse applicants.
Megan exemplifies servant leadership in every aspect of her role. Her servant leadership philosophy not only drives our team's success but also inspires us to strive for excellence and support one another in achieving our goals. She is truly deserving of recognition for her outstanding leadership and selfless dedication to serving others. She is the epitome of a phenomenal woman.
